About Me

I’m Kate — a developer who likes to hunt down edge cases and quietly make systems (and people’s lives) a little easier.

Who I Am

I’m an IT analyst / web developer who lives in the overlap of backend logic, practical UX, and “can we automate this so humans don’t have to babysit it?”

I was born in Russia and moved to the U.S. at 14. Russian was my first language, but these days I’m more comfortable thinking and working in English. My dad handed me HTML/CSS/JS when I was 12, and I never really stopped tinkering with the web.

Timeline

2024–Now
IT Analyst & Web Developer · ProphetLogic

Build multi-tenant PHP/MySQL tools for AI voice agents, analytics, and internal workflows. A lot of my time goes into making data cleaner and processes less painful.

2022–2024
B.S. Computer Science · Kutztown University

Focused on web development, data, and systems — the classes that explain what’s actually happening behind the UI.

2023
Receptionist · Rhode Agency

Helped wrangle schedules, clients, and a lot of physical paperwork. Confirmed my suspicion that good software can save people hours.

2021–2022
A.S. General STEM Studies · St. Louis Community College

Early math, programming, and “okay, I actually want to keep doing this” phase.

2002-2020
Discovered code + art

Started drawing, learned HTML/CSS/JS, and realized you can build little worlds both on paper and in a browser.

Outside of Code

Things that make my brain happy

  • Art: charcoal and black-and-white drawing; slowly bullying myself into watercolor.
  • Digital color: feels safer to experiment when Ctrl+Z exists.
  • Games: Civilization V, Cities: Skylines 2, Minecraft — anything with systems and tiny optimizations.
  • Style experiments: not “fashionable” yet, but trying — even built a FashionFinder app for fun.
  • Cars: dream car is a Subaru BRZ; current quest is learning manual.
  • Music: long DJ mixes / remixes on repeat, ideal for deep-focus coding sessions.

How I work

  • Problem-solver first, coder second.
  • Thinks through edge cases before writing functions.
  • Enjoys untangling messy data and workflows.
  • Can hyperfocus on weird issues until they’re actually done.
  • Practical, but still picky about details.
  • Gets unreasonably happy when automation replaces manual cleanup.

Fun facts

  • I will 100% overbuild things in Minecraft so my cat has a perfect house.
  • I’m fluent in Russian, but most of my life now runs in English.
